Every tile,
spec'd.

Grid LF, tile SF, NRC/CAC, seismic clip count, plenum-rated callouts. A submittal-ready acoustic ceiling bid that an inspector can't reject.

What goes wrong

Where acoustic ceiling bids break.

Mixed grid profiles. NRC/CAC by room function. Seismic clips inspectors actually count. Plenum-rated tiles where the spec quietly demands them.

01
Pain

Grid LF and tile SF, by room, by profile.

One floor mixes 15/16" exposed, 9/16" narrow-reveal, and tegular edges across open office, conference, and exam rooms. Tile families switch with them: mineral fiber, fiberglass, metal, wood. Counting by hand off the RCP is hours.

Grid LF + tile SF, split by profile and family.

Reads the RCP, segregates rooms by grid type and tile family, and outputs a line for every profile: 15/16" main runners, 9/16" narrow-reveal, tegular edge tile. Manufacturer SKUs from Armstrong, USG, and CertainTeed price books.

02
Pain

NRC/CAC mismatch on conference and exam.

The acoustic spec wants NRC 0.90 / CAC 40 in conference rooms and a plenum-rated tile in exams. Estimators routinely default to one tile across the whole floor. Punch list catches it. Tear-out follows.

Preqonn AI

NRC + CAC per room function.

Cross-checks the acoustic spec against the room finish schedule. Flags any room where the tile family fails the spec'd NRC or CAC. Suggests the next-tier tile by manufacturer. Cites the line in the spec it came from.

03
Pain

Seismic clips and bracing get missed.

In SDC C-F, ASTM E580 demands perimeter clips, splay wires, and compression posts at counted intervals. Skipping the brace count is the single fastest way to fail inspection and re-detail the entire ceiling.

Clip + brace count, by SDC.

Reads the project SDC from the structural drawings. Counts perimeter clips at 2'-0" o.c., splay-wire braces at 12'-0" o.c., and compression-post locations. Outputs a labeled BOM line ready for the inspector.

04
Pain

Plenum used for return air. Tile isn't rated.

NFPA 90A and the mechanical drawings say the plenum is a return-air path. Half the tile families in the spec aren't plenum-rated. The flag lives three sheets away from the RCP and rarely gets caught.

Plenum-rated where the mech says so.

Cross-references the mechanical return-air strategy against the acoustic schedule. Flags every room where the spec'd tile is non-rated in a return-air plenum. Substitutes a UL-listed equivalent and prices it.

FAQ

The questions before the demo.

The four every acoustic ceiling estimator asks.

Every room is segmented and tagged independently. 15/16" exposed, 9/16" narrow-reveal, tegular edges, slot-detail - each profile gets its own LF line on the BOM. If a room's profile is ambiguous on the RCP, we flag it with an RFI citing the sheet and detail callout.
Reads the Seismic Design Category from the structural drawings or the geotechnical report, applies ASTM E580 and ASCE 7 §13 rules to the ceiling area, and counts perimeter clips at 2'-0" o.c., splay-wire braces at 12'-0" o.c., and compression posts. The count comes with locations on the RCP.
We catch it. The mechanical return-air strategy is cross-referenced against the acoustic schedule. Where the spec'd tile isn't UL-listed for plenum return, we flag the conflict, suggest a plenum-rated equivalent from the same manufacturer family, and draft the RFI.
Armstrong, USG, and CertainTeed for tile families and grid systems. Live SKU pricing, current lead times, and discontinuation flags. If the spec calls a part that's been retired, we surface the manufacturer-listed equivalent and price both.
